Welcome to the tropical research station La Gamba, Costa Rica!
This site invites visitors of the station to become acquainted with plants and animals living in the beautiful garden surrounding houses and paths of the station. The botanical garden ...

... comprises a large part of the whole station area. Plants are arranged in groups between the houses and paths. There are thematically sections according to systematic position (like the collections of Orchids and Bromelias), ecological adaptation (e.g. succulents) or human use (like tropical fruit trees, herbs and ornamental plants).
