Genetic and biochemical studies
The Nagoya Protocol, which was accepted at the 10th member conference of the UN Convention of biological diversity, is now applied to genetic and biochemical studies starting from October 29, 2010.
It creates an international framework for the access to genetic resources and benefit sharing.
This implies that a separate application must be filed for genetic and biochemical research in Costa Rica. As the Tropical Field Station La Gamba must be tied into the application process ist is necessary to contact us in order to be able to attain a permit:
Cost: approximately 300 Euro per application. Please take in account that this process may necessitate a lead time of 2 to 4 months. Certified documents can be send to Costa Rica or signed in San José.
